North Korean attack at Inch'on

Tony Collins reports from the Press Zone,Suwon, South Korea.

"At a little after 06.00 this morning, reports began coming in of a Naval assault on the Inch'on coast line on the west coast of South Korea. At this time, we the press have very few details other than the assault happened at first light with some kind missile bombardment on coastal defences in the area. I have an unconfirmed report of some kind of beach landing possibly by North Korean Special Forces who proceeded to fight their way inland. As i say, at present these reports are unconfirmed but we will bring you more news as we get it".

The first wave of British troops from the rapid response force arrived in Suwon today to replace US troops who are moving up to Seoul. Men from the 35th Engineer Regiment began their task of upgrading the towns defences; whilst the Royal Green Jackets took over from US troops in the evacuation of civilians left within the town.

World News - 14 March 2007.  Breaking News

U.S defeated at Inch'on

Tony Collins Reports from the Press Zone, Suwon, South Korea.

"We have just had confirmed reports that the attack at Inch'on has succeeded and the North Koreans have defeated US and South Korean Forces in the coastal city. I can now confirm that it was indeed North Korean Special Forces or more specifically Marine Commandos that landed on the beach at dawn yesterday.

From what i gather, it seems that the initial naval bombardment took out any ocean facing defences which allowed the Commandos to take the beachhead and overrun the limited guard force. The Commandos were then followed by a main force of mechanised infantry which came ashore on a flotilla of craft including hover and landing crafts. It is as yet unknown how this part of the operation was achieved so covertly.

I have spoken with one of the American Blackhawk helicopter pilots present during the initial stages of the raid; he told how the Commandos fought their way to specific areas to gain control of the anti aircraft and artillery pieces not destroyed by the naval attack. These positions were then turned against the Coalition, forcing any air support to withdraw for fear of more casualties. One high ranking US officer believes these undamaged gun positions were left deliberately so the North Koreans could use American firepower against American troops, 'obviously leading to a phsycological effects on troop morale' he said".

" The latest we have are reports of heavy fighting up to 10 Miles inland, with Coalition Forces staging an aggressive retreat against an overwhelming enemy."

HEADLINES

North Korean Military advances closer towards Seoul from all directions.

Civilian fatality numbers keep rising at coastal Inch'on and inland beyond.

Fears grow as Suwon looks more and more likely to come under attack.

British Rapid Response Force now fully equipped and prepared for the many tasks within Suwon and surrounding area.

Red Cross and other aid agencies told "Leave now or be ready to leave for your own good".

SNN military expert Mike Cruz warns "Korea could be the new Vietnam. The present situation is all too similar to the Tet Offensive back in '68. The Coalition Forces here are dealing with a very similar dertimination and mind set as the Americans faced against the Vietcong back then; except now we have nearly four decades of technological advancements in modern warfare. The worry is that North Koreans have shown time and time again they are not afraid to use any means neccessary to achieve victory".

World News - 26 March 2007

SNN Correspondent Tony Collins speaking now after his return to the UK

It is with great professional and personal pride that we at SNN welcome home Tony Collins our very own man in Korea. The only British journalist in Suwon during the fierce fighting there just a week ago.

Collins appeared on TV earlier tonight talking about his experiences:

"The North Korean forces seemed to just keep coming, I have never seen such a large fighting force all in one small place at the same time. People are saying that this is just the Southern tip of the iInvasion force heading for Seoul, if this is so then Seoul is surely lost already".

"I was evacuated via helicopter at approximately 11.45 Sunday morning, when it became abunduntly clear that the Coalition forces could not hold this town. Even with available reinforcements, which i was told had been ordered to hold position outside of Suwon itself, the situation was bleak. As i was airlifted out, i saw British and American troops and what looked like UK/US Special forces; they were fighting a close quarters battle with North Koreans around the MSR Bridge in the west of the town".

In other news today

AFRICA
Reports of trouble in N'Djamena, Capital city of Chad with violent protests across the city. N'Djamena of course was the location of the British led Op Condor in October last year and civil unrest has been on the increase in the build up to the elections in two months time.
KOREA
A US Navy Blackhawk helicopter has been reported to have crashed somewhere within what used to be the DMZ. Rumours abound that the aircraft contained Special Forces and was shot down during a rescue mission gone wrong. But the official release states that the missing helicopter was conducting a refuelling mission and bad weather took them off course and forced a crash landing. As yet, no aircraft or crew has been found. Search attempts are hindered by the fact that the crash area is 85KM behind enemy lines.

World News - 10 April 2007

Six months on from General Azears capture, the combined peacekeeping operations across Africa have been braced for an upsurge of retaliatory violence.

So far Azear has remained in US custody awaiting news of any trials for war crimes or breach of International law, either in the US or in the Hague.

Spokesman for the United Nations operation in Africa, Denzel Banes, remarked that 'although there has been an increase in attacks on UN members today, we have been prepared and reacted accordingly to minimise the threats'.

The worst violence so far was seen at an aid station outside Nairobi, Kenya where rebels succeeded in attacking it and razing it to the ground before taking four Belgian paratroopers hostage. The latest we have on that situation is that Brussels has dispatched specialist negotiators to the area and are awaiting contact.

Meanwhile in Moscow, Foreign ministers from across Europe have been holding talks to discuss a shortage in fossil fuels. Many Countries, especially in Eastern Europe have looked to Russia in the past year as a potential source for a large part of their future resources, Moscow has declined to comment though.

Africa Six Months on... PART ONE

Africa six months on from Azears capture has seen a Continent slowly trying to rebuild their Nations and their international relations.

The General is still imprisoned under American guard at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Although no major States have publicly objected to his detention, there has been a constant voice of opinion and retaliation from his former conspirators.

Last year saw a gradual but inevitable growth of support for Azears plans to unite Africa under one flag and expel all Western influences and presence. Through careful instigation of high profile events designed to outrage the whole Continent, he was able with relative ease to set in place a mind set that would achieve his aims.

The final chapter was reached at N'Djamena, Chad. The country was the last 'free' state and was the scene of the last chance for the West to prevent a dictator led Continent.

Since the ferocius fighting to beat back Azears Army took place in October, the West has kept a large presence across Africa. Ongoing humanitarian operations to help those in need have been in the media spotlight; but behind the scenes thousands of hours of mission time have been clocked up attempting to remove all links to Azear.

Africa Six Months on... PART TWO

As Africa rebuilds, so does Azears Army. Publically denied by the West but loudly voiced on the internet and on cable television, Azear is still in the hearts, minds and the AK47's of many. The recent upsurge of violence on the anniversary of his capture is proof enough that as much as they wish, the West has not eradicated the 'whole beast'.

Many states including Chad, are attempting to regain order through holding elections and repairing their infrastucture of law and order. The biggest challenges they face are from the constant threat of insurgency. Inspiration from the televisation of high profile insurgencies after the Iraq War and the drug wars of the Helmand Province of Afghanistan have garnered the rebels with a ready supply of tactics. Even links with Colombian rebels have been forged through the drug trade, with the resulting exchange of knowledge and training from their own war with their Government and US DEA forces.

After the African Developement Conference in Durban, South Africa, ended last week, great hope has been forged for the future.

The leading Nations from across the Continent agreed that a huge amount of trust was lost after the last incident and to continue gaining humanitarian and financial support form the UN and the West, greater effort was required on their behalf.

Six Nations are planning elections in the next six months with eight more in the next year in a hope to remove any stigma remainig from the previous administrations.

The other potential flashpoints is the sudden readiness of unregulated natural resources and business opportunities. After Azears inlfuence expelled all the major oil and gas producers from the Continent, a new rush has begun to regain old drilling sites and add any rival sites to their list. With this comes a need for security, and as in Iraq another theatre of operations for 'guns for hire' has resurfaced. Private military companies have always existed in Africa but with new lawlessness and a stretched United Nations they have taken a new, surer footing in this hot, uncompromising, ever-changing land.

Africa now has a chance to rebuild, to set the record straight. If a combination of the Wests assistance and African commitment can be accomplished then the actions of the last year will be history and not a clear and present danger.

From SuWon - Present

It has been two months since that morning when along with the few remaining civilians i was airlifted out of SuWon just hours before it fell to North Korean Forces. Since that day it seems things have gone from bad to worse in Korea. With the completion of their SA4 Air defence system the North Koreans now own and dominate the skys over all but the southern tip of Korea around the Kwangju area. British ground forces have made little headway as they attempt to move northward back toward SuWon and then North again for Seoul. U.S Forces inside Seoul are effectively cut off without their air support as Seoul has become a seige city with North Korean Forces surrounding it.
Small running battles have been taking place on the outskirts of the city but as yet American armour has held back any major push by the North.

Operations on both sides have been hampered then bought to a near total standstill over the past few weeks as Korea experiences some of its worst recorded storms in history. Entire road and rail networks have been damaged or destroyed in badly hit areas making ground travel hard and severe storms have rendered any form of air travel virtually impossible.
It is thought these storms could hamper operations for weeks to come but Coalition forces say this will not be the case Stating "operations have been carried out and will continue to do so whatever the weather situation they are just not being made public knowledge due to operational security."

World News - June 28 2007. Breaking news

We have just received confirmed reports of allied aircraft seen in flight over Korea which would certainly mean the rumours of coalition SF strikes at the weekend are true and that they have been succesfull. our sources in Korea are telling us that this daring operation has restored the coalition air capability but as yet we have no details of these alleged raids other than it is thought they took place well within North Korea. Other news stations recently reported that these attacks had failed if they even happened at all But the site of 6 U.S Navy Blackhawks dropping supplies in the seige city of Seoul should be enough put stop to these false claims.

As always we at SNN promise to bring you all the news as it happens.

Reports of civilian casualties after coalition Airstrikes labeled as Propaganda

At a ministry of defence press conference in Whitehall earlier today press officer Gordon Sullivan accused the North Korean Government of feeding propaganda stories to the international press. These accusations came after certain foreign news stations claimed that coalition bombings over PyangPong North Korea were hitting civilian targets such as schools and hospitals. Special Forces Take The Fight To The North

After a week long news blackout in Korea we can today confirm we have reopened communications to our sources in country.

It is claimed that Allied special forces carried out a daring airborne raid onto Pyong Yang the North Korean Military headquarters.

it would seem this Op was planned but went in early to deal with the threat of chemical SCUDS to be used against the south.

At present we have very little information to give you due to the secrecy of the mission. But we promise more news as it comes in.

World News - July 26 2007

Enemy on back foot?

According to our sources in Korea fighting has died down this week to an almost complete standstill. It would appear the assault on PyongYang has forced the enemy to regroup and rethink.
It has been claimed that Coalition SF managed to capture at least a dozen high ranking members of the North Korean Government from the parliament building during what is now known as Operation Sentinal Strike. Rumours abound that these prisoners were airlifted out almost immediately and are now being held for interrorgation.
Accounts from Seoul claim the number of assaults in the last week has dropped by 70% Which raises the question of just how much damage that operation has done to the Norths infrastructure.

Increase in violence in build up to elections

Yesterday saw an increase in street violence in N'Djamena the capital of Chad in the last few days of build up to the elections that will replace the corrupt government that last year backed General Azear in his attempt to unite all African states under his command.

British and American peace keeping forces have come under increasing attack over the past two months since the elections were announced with this weeks troubles leaving three American soldiers dead in car bomb attacks in the capital. In the past fortnight it is believed that up to 16 civilian engineers have been abducted and ransoms have been demanded.

Security has been increased around all high level figures for Mondays election, but it has been predicted that we can expect to an even larger increase in Militia Violence with a massive influx of foriegn Nationals though to be acting as mercenaries arriving in Chad.

Over the next few days SSN will bring you the low down on the candidates running in next weeks elections.

Fatwa against the west

Yesterday saw the historic announcment of a fatwa issued against the west or indeed anyone who works against the corrupt azear government in Chad, North Africa.

And if this is actually true it would go some way to explaining the rumours that the seige last weekend at the Brittas leisure centre in Milton Keynes which was ended by an SAS led assault was masterminded and carried out by members of an as yet unnamed terror group.
It was revealed yesterday by certain foreign news stations that groups in Chad have began claiming responsibility for the abductions of civilian engineers this week. As yet SSN have no names for these groups but as soon as we know any more you will.

FEATURE -  August 6 2007

With the Elections set to begin in just a few hours time. SNN bring you the low down on the three candidates considered serious contenders in the race for the leadership of the new government.

Ahmed Fazurk: Hard line follower of Azear and head of the present government (Present Government currently disbanded due to the charges of corruption but still eligible for election due to African law.) A win tomorrow could see Fazurks party officially back in power.

Henry George Tuwkani: Independent candidate African National party.
Self made millionaire Tuwkani is favoured by the west as the number one choice for head due to his pro west stance. Locally he has a large following thanks mainly to his proposals for dealing with crime and poverty in the region.

Saieef Al Ussan: Ussan is considered by most to be nothing short of an extremist. As a cleric he holds much sway within the community and has often been outspoken in his mistrust of the west and its military presence in Africa primarily the Chad. Ussan has been linked with several of the North African terrorist training camps and the people suspected of controlling them. Unlike Fazurk, Ussan has no allegiance to Azear or his party and has on several previous occasions been heard to publicly denounce Azear as a puppet for the wests intervention in African politics.

By this time tomorrow all the votes will be in it will then take a further 48 Hours to count up all those votes and it is thought that the results will be released Thursday 10th August with the new government taking over within the week.
