*LOCATION: Camp Bastion - Sangin, Helmand Province - Afghanistan*

*_Situation:_*
The recently constructed in Sangin, the remote base of Camp Bastion is now the focal point for UK forces operations in the dry wastelands of eastern Afghanistan. Troops are sent home at the end of their tours, while new fresh faces are draughted in, eager to make a difference. Camp Bastion is an outpost of Western Civilisation in the arid alien landscapes of Helmand Province.

The soldiers are there with a hearts and minds campaign planned, to move into the local settlements and win over the Afghan population of 50,000, defeating the Taliban with minimal force. But Special Forces intelligence reports reveal that the local populace have yet to have their hearts and minds mellowed to the presence of these visitors. Still angered by the memory of fast jets dropping bombs on their native soil, farmers leave their dwindling crops and attend secret meetings, where the locations of arms caches are revealed, and the message remains one of hatred towards the West.

Deeming it unwise to attempt to secure the weapons and the Taliban commanders on their own, Special Forces units on the ground request the mobilisation of additional forces, to enter the towns, provide support and keep the peace while they carry out their dedicated roles. The Taliban, however, are unshakable in their beliefs, and intend to stand their ground no matter what the cost....

UK Pathfinders. 25 places. UK Desert.

*_Mission:_*
Taliban forces are to hold firm and remove all UK troops in the area by any means.

PETROL WARNING
I have been informed from a reliable source that there could be a fuel crisis on the way, possibly starting within the next 48 hours.

I would STRONGLY advised you fill your tanks as soon as possible and do the same when you arrive at Catterick to ensure you have enough pereol to get back home.

Just to add to that..................

Hi troops, first post and first game this weekend, Just to let you all know that as well as the imminent petrol thingy there has also been an outbreak of "Cryptosporidium" bacteria in the water supply in the Catterick area.

This means the water is undrinkable on fear of vomiting at both ends.

Yorkshire water are dispensing Bottled water to counter this but if they will be in the Whinny Hill neck of the woods i cant say.

Tesco are selling bottled water as fast as they can get it on the shelves so prob a good idea to bring a few bottles down with you.

 Cheers
