I have a favour, well i should say we have a favour to ask of you my old friend. As you know the group has begun phase one of our operation and we need to gather certain facts and figures which you in your present posistion have ready access to. We are looking for the response times and logistics schedules of Military intervention in Riot situations within a rural area. To explain a bit more my old friend We are planning to take over the refinary station at Novrenya a bold move im sure you'll agree but we have a real chance here to get our message heard by Firstly the world but more importantly the rest of Russia. Succeed or fail im sure you will agree that this kind of action can only help raise more supporters for our cause.

The following is an exert of a brief given today to a Washington Intelligence commitee regarding the operation of recruiting and training Russian militia groups to fight against the Russian Government.

Speaking is:

Eduardo Corteez deputy director CIA's Special Operations Group (SOG)

As most of you will know there has been some major concerns lately regarding the intentions of Russia and their possible links to the North Korean crisis. The Russians have denied any involvement in aiding the North Korean Military, yet we have confirmed intel stating definitivly that NK are using Russian military advisers to train and prepare their troops for a long drawn out Guerilla campaign . I'm sure i do not need to remind you of the dangers of entering into this type of warfare with NK which without a doubt will rapidly become a modern day Vietnam both on the ground in Korea and here at home with the media preying on any and all mistakes.

Its with this in mind that we decided to give the Russians something to think about a little closer to home.

Two weeks ago SOG began ground operations in Novreniya, Siberia North Eastern Russia.

Their job: to infiltrate into local Dissident groups in remote areas and begin training rebels. The overall aim of this is to lead the rebels in a Coup and have them seize power and control of the Nizhnevertovs Drilling/Refinery Station in Novreniya which they will then declare an independent state. This we hope will inspire other groups to rise up against Russia causing some level of chaos across the country and diverting their attention away from the Korean problem.

As most of you will no doubt be aware Russia is bogged down at present with talk of a Fuel crisis and certain remote areas including Novreniya have been affected by power and fuel shortages. What you wont know is that SOG is also behind this to some degree!. Our own Paramilitary section have been hitting pipe lines and power stations across Russia for three months to stir up trouble needed to cause the Militia groups to be formed in the first place.
These Paramilitary Groups remain Isolated and seperate from our main SOG deployment which has given us the ideal platform to turn these groups against its own Government.

I cannot stress enough the importance of keeping Russia out of the Korean War especially with the Chinese eager to step in. An alliance between these three Nations does not even bear thinking about Gentlemen as im sure you will agree.

Finally, the reason why you have been bought in on this, is to mainatin the success acheived so far, we're going to need all Intel each agency has on ALL three of these countries and what they don't want us to know.

We met with Vaskorov i trust you got the footage?. I have to say ......... iv'e got some real concerns about this guy. His whole attitude suggests that he knows something we dont about Novreniya. Which raises some security issues with respect to my ground teams and their covers. I'm having him watched round the clock to find out what his secret is before we reach Novreniya.

Good work at Tockchev Gentlemen the suits are extremly happy with your progress so far. And it would seem you were indeed right about Vaskorov being our man for the job that Ghengis Khan crap was truly inspired and it seems to have ruffled the right feathers over at the Kremlin. I trust we are still on target for the Novrenyia march next week?

During your last contact you mentioned Dimitri Kavoe well we found him. He's a high ranking analyst at the Kremlin and he has the ear of many other high rollers over there in Red Square. Be advised this guy is serious! signed up as a teenage boy served 4 years on a Whiskey Class Submarine before joining Spetnaz and spending the next 8 years in Afghanistan followed by Chechnya and some kind of special OP in Africa but the details on whatever it was are proving tricky to locate without flagging ourselves. After Spetnaz he retired only to be approached a year later by the KGB in the final days of their reign where he quickly rose through the ranks via Black Op's that we will probably never know the details of.

Looking at Kavoe's records im going to say this Kremlin Analyst position is nothing more than Horse Pukey he's still KGB or whatever they call themselves these day's but the question is where are his loyalties?
is he one of these disillusioned old spies longing for the old days and see's Vaskorov as his gateway to them Or is he working Vaskorov to find his true agenda before turning him and his party over to some unnamed secret police group never to be heard of again.

Either way he remains a face to keep our eye on in the future.

Keep me informed in the build up to Novrenyia this is the one we need to make happen people! Electronic traffic already indicates talk of pulling the advisers out of North Korea until the internal problems in Siberia are dealt with.

As mentioned in our last message we've had some serious concerns raised about Vaskorov's true intentions and his reasons for picking Novreniya refinery over at least a dozen other and bigger Siberian refineries. You may also recall that i increased surveillance on him both human and electronic.

Exactly 1 hour ago we intercepted a phone call between Vaskorov and one of his "assistants". During that phone call both men referred to something called Novichney 17 and the fact that it is located somewhere within the Novreniya refinery. We ran the name through our data base here and came up with the Novichney program which is an old cold war defence program disbanded over 20 years ago, unfortunatly any other Intel on the subject still remains classified.

We dont know the full details of this program and are at present speculating about Vaskorovs intentions but knowing cold war Russia the Novichney Program is probably something best left well alone im sure you will agree.

Just as a precaution though we are moving the Grey Fox and Increment teams to alert status and they will be ready to deploy in Novreniya with one hour's notice if needed.

FM: Agent Frank Monnetti Field officer in charge of Special Operations Group

DE: Would you clarify for the record the nature of your (SOG's) mission in Russia?

FM: SOG's mission was to infiltrate, Arm, Train, and if neccesary fight alongside the Military wing of the Siberian Liberation Party.

DE: Can you explain the purpose of this mission?

FM: It is established fact that the SLP led by Alexander Vaskorov were planning Paramilitary action against the Russian State. Our purpose was to exploit this oppurtunity in the hope of diverting the Russian Government away from its plans to help arm and train North Korean Military in Guerilla warfare tactics against Coalition forces fighting in the Korean Peninsula.

DE: Describe your actions in the Field

FM: Im not sure i understand your question

DE: Describe for the tape Agent Monnetti exactly how far your level of assistance to the SLP stretched

FM: My Agents and i did what was needed to win over our targets that involved helping in the burning of a Government records facility in Tockchev and the ambushing of fuel transports to remote areas this served to make the locals believe the reported fuel crisis was worse than it actually is.

DE: Please understand Agent Monnetti your field actions are not being questioned here what we are interseted in is establishing at what point you realised you were helping a Terrorist group gain Access to a Tactical Nuclear Device.

FM: Ok i can see how your not questioning my Actions! Lets get something straight here my Agents and i followed to the letter the strict protocols laid out by your committe before the mission began we reported any and all intel we placed Electronic surveillance on all suspect members of the party. As soon as we discovered the excistence of Novichney 17 we reported it in But know one had any idea what in the hell it was so we were ordered to carry on Which we did.
during the protest march it became evident that Vaskorov had a second agenda at the refinary and the Novichney Device played a major part. We tasked three men to stay close to Vaskorov and confirm the nature of Novichney. Early on the Sunday Morning the SLP gained possesion of the Device from Russian Forces and For the Record Sir it was my men who retrieved said Device Vaskorovs only contact with it was watching my men handle it. So i resent your acusation that we helped a Terrorist group gain possesion of such a weapon because that quite simply IS NOT THE GODDAMN CASE.
