What do people carry for a hard routine weekend?

At the moment, all I have is a camelbak and a water bottle.

You'll need to be carrying pretty much everything you think you're going to need for the entire 25 hour duration of the Combat Mission.

Primarily, this consists of:

- a good water supply (although refills are sometimes available, you need to make sure you wont run out on a patrol, so carry a couple of bottles or a good sized camelback)

- ammunition (make sure you have plenty - although it's possible to get through a combat mission and hardly fire a shot, if you do get in a firefight, ammo resupply may be a long way away if it's possible at all.  Don't forget batteries for your AEG too.)

- food (in your Bergan - a good day sack or bergan is fairly essential - you may not need to physically carry it all the time, but you need to have your kit mobile at a moments notice.  Make sure that the kit you have isn't too bulky - if you bring an entire kitchen it's you that'll have to carry it.)

Other items you may wish to consider:

- Additional clothing - particularly WARM clothing and/or Wet Weather gear (remember you may be outside with little shelter all weekend)

- Sleeping bag/roll mat - to make your bed - you may not need to carry these in your bergan, but unless you want a REALLY uncomfortable night, then it's suggested you bring these.

- Mission specific accessories - based on your mission objectives, you may wish to have additional kit such as Optics/NV, Hat/Gloves, spare underwear, spare clothes, Sidearm, Grenades, brew kit/mess tins, or other backup equipment.

The basic rule to follow is carry what you know you will need.  Be prepared for the worst, and ditch anything that isn't essential.

Thanks for the feedback.  I'll need to address the stuff about spare clothes.

I have a 3 ltr camelbak, and a separate 1 ltr water bottle.  Is this enough?

I have 5 hicaps.  Do I need spare bb bottles?

Food is my main question.  I don't have a stove, or mess tins etc.  What do I need in this direction?

That sounds like enough water - I don't think most people would carry more than that.

As for ammo, again 5 hicaps should be enough, but this is a major variable, as it all depends on how much you tend to use, and how many hostiles you encounter.  You might want to bring a bottle of BBs and leave it at camp so you can reload each time you return, or some players carry BB's in a bag so that they have extra ammo and it doesn't rattle.

Food is personal preference.  There are a lot of options available.  You can carry MREs/Ration Packs, which will keep you nourished and can sometimes be purchased on the day.  Alternatively you can work out your own supplies.  You can get self-heating tins of beans, energy/cereal bars, alternative drinks - anything really, as long as it will keep you filled, healthy and nourished.  It's best to bring things which don't crush easily in the bottom of a burgan, so think about whether it'll still be edible after it's been in there for a few hours being bounced around.  Make sure you get foods that will allow your body a steady supply of energy, and don't rely on energy/alertness boosters like caffiene products or pro plus.

Make sure to find out as much about the mission as possible beforehand, and then work out your kit.  Build your outfit from the underwear up, so you ensure that you have spare if you need it, appropriate clothing, appropriate weapon, footwear, eye protection, webbing/chest rig, water, ammo, supplies, bergan, sleeping/eating kit, comms & optics, and anything you need to maintain your fighting order.
