Unfortunately i will not be instructing on this first sniper training day, as i fly out on that day on my skiing holiday..yippee
as stated not all the areas will be covered on the day, but through i period of other training days all areas will be covered, moving to  a more advanced level if so required.

as to the questions....

don`t worry if you dont have a sniper rifle.
when practising firing positions & movement an assault rifle will do.(pref with some from of scope fitted)

regarding a ghillie suit, you wont need one to begin with, as we will cover how you can make one. if you do have one, bring it along as its always nice to see, and gives people some great ideas when  trying  to making there own.

if you intend to take this subject seriously, to get the full benifit from these training days, i would advise that anyone who does`nt have a sniper rifle buys one, or borrows one from a friend for the day. later on when we start doing stalking excerises a ghillie suit will be required.

as am not sure what areas will be covered on this day, if anyone has any questions etc please post them, and i will find out and let you know asap.

Cheers

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Russ for sharing all his wisdom with us on the course yesterday.   I was really breaking into learning new techniques, recalling some that I had forgotten through lack of practice, and ultimately learning a lot.  The course was challenging and a real wake up call to how inexperienced I was in this particular field, and some aspects I found difficult, although I enjoyed every minute.

Cheers also to Matt and Will for their help, and all those who attended for being great classmates and bringing a variety of insights and experiences to the course.

I'm replaying the whole day over and over in my head, focusing on the areas where I know I could improve, and eager to get back out there and train some more.

Good stuff!

To echo Labyrinth I’d like to say thanks to Russ, Matt and Will for a great day. Russ, Bootneck   Grin? Your instruction was top notch, even a banna like me picked up stuff, looking forward to the next one. Sorry I didn’t come with sod all kit (cheers Matt and Russ), I’ll sort out my admin for the next one.

My only disappointment of the day was that I didn’t slot the second target and then get the third, which was Matt’s arse/nut sack. Lol, what a nightmare that terrain was, it was like crawling through 2ft high skinny crisps! Thanks to Tim as well for that last exercise, good working with you, looking forward to  teaming up with you for the next one.

Cheers
