Op: Copperstone - Copehill Down Airsoft Event August 2011: AOW Tour of Duty, Alexander 2 Themed Game
27 August, 2011 to 28 August, 2011

Location:N’Djamena, Chad.

Situation:

N’Djamena has been the nucleus of African conflict and armed struggle for over half a decade.  Chad’s leader, Victor Aluma, vowed to improve security and the livelihoods of his people during his swearing in ceremony after successfully winning the democratic elections of August last year.  During his self titled ‘speech of the Second Coming’, Aluma made claims that a new infrastructure would enable Chad to ‘regain her pride and prosperity’ and become the ‘Jewel of Africa’.

Si7 have paid particular attention to this statement as some of the rhetoric echoes that of the infamous General Azear.  They have also followed the fallout and chatter from his speech as Western Governments have heavily funded the substantial rebuild of water, transport and electricity installations as well as trialling emerging energy technologies.  It is feared that these could become targets for enemies of the state or by foreign hostile nations conducting industrial espionage.  Both scenarios have been highlighted as unacceptable and damaging to those Governments responsible for providing the installations.

Going against the recommendations of his Internal Security Minister, Aluma has announced a week of celebrations in N’Djamena to commemorate the first anniversary of his ascension to power.  With the intention of bringing festivities to the people and the National Army and giving respite from the last few years, several journalists have already started drawing comparisons between this and the heady days of the Roman Emperors.  Aluma’s Joint Chiefs have prepared a contingency plan in case the Divine Brotherhood of Roy exploit the occasion and bring their guerrilla tactics to the city.

Teams:

Divine Brotherhood of Roy(75 places) -Civilian or traditional african dress. red white shemagh. No Desert gear or DPM

KGB National Army (45 places) - Flectarn - DPM - Woodland

Task Force Black(30 places)- Multicam

Chad Police - Police uniform (invite only)

Mission:

Divine Botherhood of Roy - Employ guerrilla tactics and cause as much unrest as possible during the Festival of Aluma and strike at targets of the State.

KGBNA - Preserve security of the Festival and State infrastructure by any means necessary.

Task Force Black - To maintain a Western presence in N’Djamena at Aluma’s request and assist the National Army in any operations.

Chad Police - Keep law and order on the streets of N’Djamena and ensure the festivities are peaceful.

Just a reminder to all that attending Op Copperstone that this event, like Murabit, is more roleplay than all out shooting.  Those who attended Murabit will know however that there was a lot of trigger time still but to get to that point there was a lot of interaction and roleplay involved in by all sides.

Maom and Haribo are still the new currencies in Chad, the scourge that are these new drugs of choice across the country means that they will be just as valuable as hard cash.  Money is still required and should be brought along in wads that can be used in game as well as having a stash in a shoe box or bag that can be transported. Mark your name clearly somewhere on the container.  The template is below for the cash and it can be colour or black and white, also only the top and bottom note needs to be printed, the rest of the bundle can be blank below.

Finally, please remember that the city will be in a state of celebration and festivity to give praise for the year of power Victor Aluma has blessed the people of Chad with, he is also rejoicing for the divine gift of his son, and heir, Gecko Aluma!  The people of N'Djamena should take this opportunity to enjoy the break from their daily oppression and take to the streets in true celebration and make the city a carnival!  All must attend or the Police will be paying visits to enforce enjoyment....
