Hi Guys,

I’m new to the forum. I’m hoping to get to the September game at the sandpit but chances are that I’ll be on my todd.

I’m hoping you guys are an amiable bunch (when not concealed) and I could break the ice and ‘know’ people before I go.

I’m a fairly good airsofter, although not a ex / current soldier like friends of mine who play; so I can assume I won’t be as good as current members, but ill defiantly take my hits Wink and quite frankly I’ve had enough of playing against the dishonest, and heard you guys have a good reputation.

I’m hoping to get more out of my games and you can only be as good as the people you play with so I’m at your mercy.

Hi Noddy,

Good to hear from you.  You'll get along fine with the guys, there will be others in the same boat so don't feel like you'll be the only one there not knowing anyone else.

Cheers bud, I've got a few questions hopefully some could answer,

In terms of load carrying bags what do people recommend because the recommended item list is quite large, I don't think my vest could handle it ... Especially the sleeping bag lol.

Is there Any websites where I could possibly get them from and what do people recommend. I've played airsoft but never this "serious" ... I don't want to be unprepared. Also are their any tips people could recommend like essentials which are not on the list?

Thanks for the welcome

I'd look for a british army infantry bergen as you can pick one up fairly cheaply on ebay or from army shops.  You could also invest in a small daysack as well to carry kit in when on longer patrols etc....

You'll be prepared if you have the kit off the list, my advice is to try one event and then after see what you didn't have and others did and if it would make your life easier in the field or enhance your experience on an event.

Likewise, make sure you have decent and correctly fitting boots or footwear as you'll be on your feet a lot.  Also, make sure you have enough warm layers and a waterproof one too.

I was going to get a patrol pack around 40lt? would that be big enough for the list required?

Please excuse the stupidity but I have never attended an event of this stature before and I not only want to be self sufficient but I also want to be useful to my fellow team members.

Am I right in assuming we will set up a camp together and then go on patrols and missions? I have been looking at images in the gallery to get an idea of things.

In terms of attending games prior I'm based in Kent and mainly stick around here, your games are nationwide? and so I wont be able to get to one before.

Our events are nationwide, but mainly in Catterick and our valley on the Welsh border, north of Abergavenny.  We also run events in Norfolk, Wiltshire and other areas as they come available to us.

I would go with a slightly larger bergen than that as depending on the size of your sleeping bag that alone could take up all that space.

Yes, there will be a harbour area or patrol base we will establish and patrol from there out.
