It could be nothing and we have no intel to suggest the presence of a DBR camp.  But its better you are aware than not.

Good news from Diego Garcia. Our American friends have all arrived safely and a job well done in Cameroon. The hit on Utaka was a success the teams were in and out in less than an hour some casualties sustained but all men extracted leaving the blame to be laid as hoped on local tribal infighting. 
A second op was carried out by SF ground troops to remove the threat posed by any groups that may have seen the Helos and I can confirm that this op was also a success after they managed to grab several high ranking rebel fighters. We have began processing the combatants and we are far from finished but already they have provided a great deal of intel we are following up on.

I will keep you informed of any developments and I should return to blighty within the week.

First of all you will be pleased to hear that the locals are pointing the finger at everybody except us for the Cameroon thing so let’s hope that it stays that way. Secondly if you have read the daily station reports i have something interesting to add which i left out for reasons that will become clear shortly.
As of 14:38 Hrs local time today in Masssakori  we can confirm the presence  of our old friend Rasheed Sadeeki .  He checked into the Johburg hotel this afternoon and has paid upfront for 2 months this in itself means little because once we had pinged him he was observed checking into 3 more hotels for the same period of time. After doing a drive by passed each hotel myself i can say all of them share one common factor DISCRETION. Each one is situated off the beaten track ideal for conducting counter surveillance or so he thinks at least. I now have teams with eyes on each of the premises and they are establishing electronic surveillance systems as we speak.
I think Sadeeki is here for the duration directing DBR actions ready for the elections in August or possibly procuring safe houses for a Cell or Cells which would mean they have an operation planned here in Masssakori.
We are on top of this situation as far as is possible and we have the advantage of knowing he is here without tipping our hat so to speak Which brings me to the main reason i left this out of the daily.
At 18:00 Hrs i personally witnessed him meet with a local man named Omar Mohammed they met in the old square at a coffee house known more for its extremist patrons rather than the coffee it serves. Normally this wouldn’t mean anything, we know of Omar he is a local fixer with tangible ties to the drug trade that transits through the region. But for the past week he has been a leading voice against ISAT forces after the accidental shooting of Khaleem Khalam by American forces during a botched raid on a suspected DBR safe house. It is reported that Khalam was an innocent just in the wrong place at the wrong time whether this is the case or not only time will tell. But it seems to have inspired Omar to take to his soap box to denounce the evils of ISAT in the region. I have actually met and spoke with Omar Mohammed and i can assure you he would feel no such feelings at the death of someone like Khalam which initially made me think he was being guided or played by someone pulling his strings. After witnessing him meet Sadeeki  i can say with confidence that he will be the one pulling Omar Mohammeds  strings.
I propose a snatch and grab on Omar Mohammed and Rasheed Sadeeki will be meeting with the boys from TFB and the Fusiliers tomorrow morning so i can brief them on my plans for the op. But im requesting that we let this play out for a bit longer as the longer we let them run the more intel well get in the end.

We had a major breakthrough today with geting audio intel from inside the safe houses because its too risky to send someone in but today we finally managed to overcome the difficulty of penetrating  whatever they are using to shield themselves from electronic surveillence. They are very busy inside and the phone traffic is non stop. My guys have so far confirmed the presence of 4 cells with a 5th command cell the size of each cell is unknown at present but at a  guess from voices heard in each house id say half a dozen men in each cell that is only a guess though.

A lot of what we heard points towards some kind of dirty bomb or God forbid a tactical nuke but im leaning more towards the dirty bomb theory at present as our radiation monitors are quiet but that could just mean they are waiting for final delivery.

I will keep you updated as things develop.

One other thing which im sure you are aware of is the fact that tensions here are very high civil unrest is rising rapidly and ISAT forces are having trouble containing it. Its under control at the moment JUST but we are sitting in a tinder box here my blue team reported today of aggression aimed at Omar Mohammed aswell, during one of his speeches it seems there is a small minority here that want ISATs help and Omar is rocking the boat. I am going to take him down by the end of the week we cant afford to leave it any longer. I may even have to bring that forward depending on intel we get from the safe houses.

We have  a problem well two problems actually

The first

My team that had eyes on Omar Mohammed have called in to say that things got nasty at tonights rally and Omar was wounded in the fracas. I dont know at this time wether he was intended as the target or if it was just bad luck on his part but im being told that a small group started throwing bottles and rocks at the speakers and things fell apart from there. My guys say Omar was kocked to the ground by a flying object then stabbed by an unknown assailant who either fled or just melted back into the crowd. Police broke up the situation and Mohammed was rushed to the city hospital.

We have an asset inside the hospital who confirmed that it was him and that he is undergoing life saving surgery as we speak. I have considered and decided against going in after him until he is out of surgery we need him moveable. I have placed a team in and around the hospital so we can mainain eyes on as best we can and rest assured we will lift him at the first available oportunity.

The second

About an hour before Mohammed started his rally a second team with eyes on Sadiki reported that they had lost him. The team had been tracking him all day with ground teams and the drones but at 19:27Hrs local time he entered the coffee house in the old square which he has frequented every day since we first got eyes on. He usually stays for about an hour so nothing semed out of place until the report concerning Mohammed came in and one of the team made his way inside the coffee house Sadiki wasnt there and my guy couldnt start asking questions so they then proceeded to check with all the teams watching the safe houses all reported no visual of Sadiki since yesterday.

I dont believe he got spooked and ran im confident this was his plan all along it fits with every other time weve got close to him he comes in sets everything up briefs the cells and then moves on before the operation starts Nema Nemaso is just one time hes slipped the net. Ive been tracking him across this country for 4 months and every time its the same. Rasheed Sadiki is the main operational planner for the DBR im sure of  it  and when we eventually take him down we will split the DBR network right open in a way they will never recover from.

I will update you as things develop with Mohammed but my asset reckons he may hav to under the knife again tomorrow so it could be 48 hours till we get a chance but we WILL get him

First things first Op Trident was a success The men and women of the Alexander battle group had their work cut for them from the outset but with an iron will they fought hard knowing just what was at stake.

I’m sure you will have read most of the reports by now and will be aware of just how brutal it was in there. We set up TAC HQ at the Massakori police station from there we had eyes on the situation at the hospital as it developed or rather deteriorated. Several casualties were sustained within the first few minutes it seems that the DBR had picked exactly the same moment to retrieve Omar Mohammed from the hospital and almost immediately fighters were flooding into the area and engaging ISAT forces in and around the hospital. They managed to repel Task Force Blacks first attempts at gaining entry and even when we did get them inside they faced far greater numbers than anticipated consequently the DBR were able to safely extract him out of the hospital using the fighting to block any pursuit by us.

Eventually ground forces broke through  and managed to force back the enemy allowing us to secure the hospital shortly after this one of the Fusiliers sections which had managed to push deeper into the city got themselves into a firefight and having cleared the house of combatants proceeded to conduct a search and discovered the DBRs dirty bomb it seems that the house they picked to take cover in was the current safe house for the device. At this point it was decided that we would set up HQ at the Government HQ building next to the UN HQ  and so we transported the device there until we could find some way to extract it without risk. By this time ISAT forces had managed to secure a pretty solid line from the police station through the hospital and up to GOV HQ. Once the DBR discovered the device was missing the city was engulfed by a second wave of violence and it was during this time that i received Intel stating that in fact the KGB had Mohammed after they had stolen him from the DBR.

Early sunday morning the KGB contacted ISAT command confirming they had Mohammed and it was made clear in no uncertain terms that unless he was handed over to ISAT immediatly then the use of AIR SUPPORT had been given the green light. Faced with this the KGB played safe and decided that it was better to hand him over rather than deal with the political backlash of the world knowing the part they had played in the weekends fighting.

Although it seems that just because the west agreed to keep quiet regarding KGB involvement the DBR didn’t feel the same and HM news over here has reports from the DBR claiming they have been betrayed by the KGB .

This is great news for us because it is the first signs of the cracks in the organistaions they have been linked and have backed each other for years and now that could all fall apart because of Omar Mohammed who was meant to die in the attack i now believe was in fact orchestrated if not carried out by Rasheed Sadiki.  I have spoken briefly to Mohammed who is still heavily sedated but so far i have managed to confirm that he was recruited by Sadiki to spread anti ISAT feeling as a cover for his operation to detonate the dirty bomb and laying the blame with the KGB. Unfortunately for him we were aware of much of his activities and therefore able to put measures in place to stop his plan which may in turn be just the stroke of luck we need to nudge him towards a mistake the fact that his attacks failed and we have his bomb will really piss him off so lets hope he makes a slip up so can we crush him.

On a final note i got the first reports back from my bomb guy earlier and the dirty bomb would have proved devastating if detonated. The device actually contained a map with the target location as masssakoris water supply which would have wiped out most of the population of the city as well as the surrounding areas that were fed from the same supply. My guy also said that he Can confirm many of the integral parts are Russian made cold war era but the actuall configuration has signatures that match with many of the bombs being made in Afghanistan at present.

The doctors say Omar should be fit enough for questoning by wednesday so i will update then if nothing else develops in the mean time.

I arrived in N'Djamena this morning the team will follow in the next few days once the finish packing up at Feukete which was a dead end by the way.

I managed to catch the press conference this morning and it seemed to go without a hitch all the candidates were present and now all the  names are out in the open so i will task the team with finding out everything about those we dont know.

With regards to Sadeeki we have no new intel at present but i would stake my life on him being here or being on his way. We will get him this time i have sources all over the city i will know before he gets here and we will be ready.

We intercepted a communication last night and although we are still waiting for voice recognition confirmation we are confident that it is Sadeeki and if it is that means he is already in N’Djamena.
The call was made from somewhere in Northern Africa possibly Libya on an unregistered cell number at approx 17:15 yesterday evening. My tech guys are still tracing the location of origin and destination of the call. At present we know that the call was answered here in the capital but the signal was moving all the time which means either he was scrambling the call or he was in transit at the time we should have an answer on that by the morning if the UK techs pull their finger out which I was hoping you might be of some assistance with we have enough on here without having to dedicate my guys to shouting at the lab rats at home.
Just so your aware I have set up a meeting with  the current police chief for tomorrow morning ill be going in as a south African journalist writing a piece on those that swap law for politics. It should give me a good insight into what makes him tick so I will update you if anything develops with that.

Ive got unconfirmed intel claiming the CHAD Lizard flu outbreak man made. My source claims that he knows a former military scientist in south Africa approached last month by a group of people with the base materials needed to create the virus. Dimtri is down there following a lead on a new Hawalla we think is up and running so ive tasked him to find the scientist and if need be bring him up here where i can talk to him. Hopefully he will cooperate with Dimitri though we have enough going on here as it is Specifcally if this virus was released rather than a natural occurance. Its a hell of  list of suspects to say the least.

With regard to the hunt for Sadeeki we have no sign of the man himself. But my guys know what to look for and they have several points that tie in with what we know about his SOP's. He was definatly here but at present we dont know if he is still here.

Intel is confirmed the LIZARD FLU outbreak was man made in this particular strain which is named L.Z.R.D 147. Dimitri bought the scentist up with him an hes confirmed four of the cases we have seen as the 147 strain.

We also have a suspect named Dinwa Ramasgat who is either the man behind the release or the patient zero which  we are trying to locate and confirm now he is top priority until we know more. At present we dont know if Ramasgat has allegience with any of the major groups out here or whether he is a lone wolf. I have made ISAT command aware and Task Force Black are fully up to speed. Op Tempest starts in 48 hours and we need him secured before the voting starts any assistance from other agencies would be invaluable.

First things first ive ordered the team home there is nothing they can do here at the moment ISAT are tied up prepping there return to UK and US after Alexander finished. I  will stay on to bring our new guy up to speed as hes better placed to work with Aluma after Op Tempest. The president has nothing but mistrust for me  and plus i have new leads for Sadeeki so me and Dimitri will leave for Afghanistan after the weekend. I have intel claiming he has returned to Jalalabad and we will tag on to the UK forces  who have Ops planned in the area. As im sure your aware by now the second batch of L.Z.R.D 147 failed to have impact after bein detonated at low altitude but the threat remains out there and Sadeeki could hold the key to breaking it.

Although fighting has ceased here tension remains high after Jobre's death which many street clerics are claiming was asassination. I can assure you it was not in any way planned but the crazy bastard pulled a pistol and was firing wildly at Aluma during the chaos after the grenade attack at the election results. We managed to get all the candidates into the building but prior to the announcement we were given intel stating that the head of Jobre's CP team was infact Dinwa Ramasgats brother and i took appropriate measure to eliminate that threat i managed to stop him entering the building and one of my guys put him down as we struggled. Once inside i got Tombalaye to the upper floor and as i returned for Aluma Jobre who was buried under a pile of his CP team emerged firing, its unclear whether he was using his own weapon or whether he took it of one of his team but his intent was clear to KILL Aluma he managed to get several shots off  before myself and and one of my guys put him down. With Tombalaye and Aluma secure upstairs we secured the area and then escorted the president to the roof of Government house so he could observe the situation. It was here we parted company i think he felt safer surrounded by his loyal guard alone. Shortly after i observed him calling out orders on the front line of the battle that raged below. At this point Dimitri and myself along with the LO team from TFB moved to assist ISAT forces as they fought to clear the DBR  from the market area.

If anything changes before i leave i will contact you immediatly but im confident the tension will ease in the next few days the new national army have the place well under control which came as real suprise to me i tell you.

Interesting development here today sir one of the anyalysts was re-watching UAV footage from over N’Djamena shortly after the attack during the election results and he spotted something that was missed on previous veiwings.
We have footage of a meeting between a small group of DBR near the Cleric’s house at Compound 147.  One of those in attendance was the Cleric himself and at least 2 individuals we suspect belonged to the close protection team with Otto Jobre.  The subject of the discussion is what makes it interesting.  It seems that one of them had been approached by a high ranking member of the New National Army who was willing to betray Aluma and possibly even help take him out.  We are looking into any possible candidates in the NNA but the name they called him is a common one and sometimes used as a nickname but we are narrowing it down.  We’re also working on identifying the others present but nothing confirmed so far.

Booer passed on several of his sources to me before he left and they have all been giving good intel but so far none can give me any names of  generals in Alumas army who would flip on their glorious leader.

I will keep you updated with any developments.

Good news from Op Hawkeye.

You can let whitehall know we captured Mousso Habre. Im sure President Aluma will be very happy to see his former chief of police again.

The boys from Task Force Blue did a grand job picking up 5 HVT during the op.

A local cleric known to be financing fighters in the region along with 3 of his cell leaders and one target known to be responisble for prisoner executions including British soldiers all picked up and transported for further interrogation.

I spoke to Carter today and he’s concerned about a surge in DBR comms hinting at some new offensive possibly some kind of outside contractor.
Beginning at 06:00hrs local time his teams intercepted a call originating from N’djamena its exact destination is at this time unknown other than it was somewhere in the Batha region in the north of Chad. He has people isolating it’s location now but it’s going to take time. At 15:00hrs local time they intercepted a call to the same area but this time it seems the call originated in Libya. Then over the next 3 hours comms went crazy there were calls inside N’djamena which we have managed to identify as known safe houses for DBR cells but we also confirmed one of the locations as a KGB local government HQ in Salamat in the south east.
All the calls seemed to be referring to some kind of outside contractor or contractors.Someone referred to as the Libyan is mentioned several times as is the KOA (Knights Of Azear)a group we are well aware of but who have been quiet for some time. They are cross checking all the databases for any previous mention of this Libyan and both Carter and myself are contacting all sources with knowledge of KOA activities.

As for this call placed to Salamat its very possible that the KGBNA intelligence corps has sources placed within the DBR or very close at least so this could be easily explained but i have Carter asking a few quiet questions in the right places so we will just have to wait and see.

As you know the KGBNA have launched a major offensive against DBR forces in Faya Largeau Northern CHAD.

The KGBNA had advanced against the enemy pushing them back over the previous 72 hours and yesterday morning they seemed to have them trapped against the shores of lake fitri. As per General Hatemi’s request we had detached a task force recce group to assist with order of battle and provide overwatch on the operation.

At approx 0830 this morning the recce team using a UAV spotted a large secondary DBR force advancing towards the KGBNA.

This intel was immediately passed down the line to the ground commanders with the request to use Hellfire missiles against the advancing force. But the reply came back with Hatemis codewords and they were told specifically that they had no authority to to fire on the enemy.

The Task Force recce team was forced to watch as the national army were attacked from all sides by DBR fighters almost as if the place had been picked for that purpose. KGBNA took massive casualties from the start being caught unaware but  after regrouping the ground commanders were able to pull remaining forces into cover of nearby woodlandwhere they set up a defensive line to hold out for reinforcements but since then they have been taking heavy shelling and rocket attacks as more and more DBR flooded into the area.

We now have a situation where the DBR forces have completely cut them off from ground reinforcements. And from the UAV footage I’ve seen it’s a hell of a fight down there.

I’ve taken the liberty of putting into motion an operation to be carried by elements of task force White. If we do things right we can break the counter attack and rescue the trapped KGBNA troops .

I’ll send more details in the next 24 hours but at present im  calling it Operation Storm King.

Storm king was a major success Task Force White managed to rescue Colonel Mugatu who was the sole survivor of the KGBNA forces ambushed by the DBR. He was being held at the ln woodland near Mirhball village and TF White extracted him on the Helos while other elements of the unit placed a ground cordon around Mirhball to contain the locals and prevent imbedded fighters from assisting the hostage takers.
The intel provided by Mugatu led to the arrests of several suspects which in turn led to us discovering that it was actually a unit of the KOA controlling the fighters in the area.

Over the following 24 hours we launched successful Ops to lift 6 HVTs and managed to eliminate a further 4 along with a high number of the DBR who tried to protect them.
Of the 6 we picked up I have been able to question all but 2 of them so far and I’ve got good intel from each one. The most important being intel regarding a planned attack in Ati sometime over the next 3 months. I have people working on the details as we speak and will update as we know more.
We also recovered a letter picked up at the Nigerian embassy in CHAD That clearly shows someone inside the KGB passing on operational details to the DBR this links back to the phone intercept we picked up on last month and we have the letter on the way for forensic tests so we will have to wait for those to be completed but we may get lucky.

We have an interesting new asset in development and so far he’s proved extremely reliable. I’m going to test him out on some smaller things but he’s uniquely placed to not only provide highly accurate plans and intel but also if pushed we could use him to gain access to some extremely elusive people we’ve wanted to ” talk to ” for a long time

I’ll forward all the intel on to you via the usual diplo package you guys are going to be busy.
