    OPERATION KRATOS
    Catterick Urban Ops
    March 14/15th

With the pressure mounting in Iraq, and the increasing loss to the  British contingent British forces have trouble on their hands, with the Old regime of Saddam  out of the way, and a return of the Shia Muslims trying to gain their rightful home and place in authority, However  resistant pockets of  Sunni insurgents are trying to make a name for themselves and reclaim SHAIBAH.

SHAIBAH lies in southern Iraq within close proximity to BASRA.

Operating from a British airbase nearby - 5 miles east of SHAIBAH & 10 miles south west of BASRA.

It is here in SHAIBAH that the Sunni's ruled & held power, however following the incarceration of Saddam and as the British forces trying to control & police the streets they are met with resistance from the Sunni Muslim faction ( the Sunni's follow the traditions of the Prophet Mohammed and believe their Muslim leaders should be elected.)

The Shia don't recognise authority of elected Mulsim Leaders and believe that rightful heirs should be granted authority.

With Saddam out of the way the control of SHAIBAH has become more difficult than first thought for the British, the UN are trying to orchestrate a unified Iraqi Government

The Iraqi police have been dismantled as they were corrupt & are being reformed, so the town of SHAIBAH became a lawless state with Shia & Sunni fighting for control.  British troops policing the town are under constant attack from Sunni groups who want to run the town (all of Iraq infact)

The Sunni & Shia  both don't like the presence of British forces in Iraq, & as they try to police the streets & orchestrate an new elect government for Iraq the Sunni & Shia both turn their attentions on the British troops there.

The Supreme Council of Revolutions - are a group of Iraqi's that were forced out of Iraq By Saddam & his Sunni Regime  they were forced to  take  refuge in Iran for years, now with Saddam out of the way they join the arm wrestle.

Abraheem AL Slabbah is leader & mastermind behind the Supreme Council his intentions is to take the town of SHAIBAH as it is a lead into BASRA

He will take out the Sunni resistance & the British troops (though he will co-operate with the british to rid the town of Sunni fighters who are also gunning for the town.

The Sunni fighters are headed up by Jamail Malik & His Sunni Muslim Iraq Party.

The SMIP are causing most trouble with the  constant attacks on British troops & live in the west of SHAIBAH.

The SCR take advice from the british on how to overcome their sunni adversary's

The British need to keep their whits about them as the patrol the city as both Sunni & Shia groups look to rid Iraq of Western influence

SunniMuslims (Jamail Malik & Sunni Muslim Iraq Party)  - live in west of the town of Shaibah, take pot shots & give resistance to the british, they want control under saddam style regime- were strong followers of saddam Hussein.

Shia Muslims (Abraheem AL Slabbah &The Supreme Council of Revolutions) Moving from exile in Iran want to move back into the town, constant fighting with the Sunni over Land. Main objective get footing back in Iraq Then make play for Basra- Shaibah is stepping stone to bigger picture.

Shia Also want control of SHAIBAH with their own ruling.

British forces (small contingent) there to police the city until a new government is formed & the Iraqi police are re assigned a new non corrupt dept.

British forces see Abraheem AL Slabbah as a tool to rid the town of Jamail Malik and his Sunni warriors.

British must deal with the attacks from Sunni's & Shia but also make contact with shia & the supreme council to broker a deal to join forces & Rid the streets of the Sunni threat.

British main gain is to use the shia against the sunni then turn their attentions on the shia's & bring in a UN elect  Iraqi  government. 4

    Teams

    British Army - Desert gear

Supreme Council Of Revolutions (SCR) -Shia Muslims - Civilian gear - With Shemagh (not red)

Sunni Muslim Iraqi Party (SMIP) Sunni Muslims - Greens/DPM (Red Shemagh)

    Mission

SCR to regain control of Shaibah

Sunni- to Maintain control of SHAIBAH

British must deal with the attacks from Sunni's & Shia but also make contact with shia & the supreme council to broker a deal to join forces & Rid the streets of the Sunni threat.

British main gain is to use the shia against the sunni then turn their attentions on the shia's & bring in a UN elect Iraqi government.

    Operation Kratos Game Rules

In order for you to get the best out of your stirling airsoft experience & to contribute to the weekend please read & digest the following:

    Site Rules

We are fortunate to have the benefit of such a great Facility to use,  please listen to & respect all Safety briefings, Game Specific briefings & marshals word.
Failure to adhere to these will result in expulsion from the site & any future stirling events.

No arrival on site prior to 18:00hrs on the Friday
Safety Breifings will be in the safezone/ regen 1 at 09:00hrs on Saturday morning (everybody present)
    Game briefing 09:10
Individual team briefings 09:30 approx ( at location given in game brief)

    10:30 Hrs GAME ON.
23:00 Hrs Game ceases (all Items of points Value & possessions to be reported to a marshall)
    Sunday 07:30hrs Game resumes
    11:00 Hrs END EX.
All Players & marshals etc to go straight to Regen 1  for De-breif & final points score & results.

    Pyro rules!!

Only pyro purchased from Stirling Airsoft/Airsoft Skirmish will be able to be used at this event.

Do not bring pyro to this event, you must purchase it upon the day.

These are for Health and Safety reasons.

Any pyro that has not been purchased from Stirling Airsoft will be removed from the game and could result in any player carrying pyro not purchased from Stirling Airsoft to be placed in the sin bin.

All we are trying to do is to stop the use of certain types of Pyro that we don't think are safe! People bring all sorts of pyro that most wouldn't even pick up.

So it is for safety reasons that we have made this rule.

Nothing more than mk5/9mm bfg inside or outside buildings.
Mil smokes are allowed outside of buildings. Not inside.
    No military smokes inside buildings.

If a bang goes into a room. Any one in the room is dead unless behind hard cover!! Hard cover must sheild the entire body. A couple of ammo tins/bricks does not count as hard cover!!

All bangs are classed as grenades.

Outside or in open terrain. Mk5 kills within 5m/15' radius. Hard cover does apply!!

Smoke is smoke. Does not represent anything else!!

Any other pyro which has larger effects on game play will be used by a marshal and players will be told on the spot if they are within the blast area. Hard cover then may not apply!! And players will be asked to return to regen!

    Building rules

The Firing of Weapons inside buildings is to be done preferably by pistols only however if your not carrying a pistol or a short, then for longs it is to be on a single shot basis only, ideally we would place a pistol only rule to take effect, but we are aware that not everybody carries a short, so if your entering any building please use your pistol or switch your long to single shot.
This is for game effectiveness as well as health & Safety (see also Bang Rule)

Once you are inside a building you may fire out from the building using your long & on full auto, you may also fire into a building using a long on full auto, it is once you enter the building you must abide by this pistol/single shot rule.
if your in a doorway & you are inside the building & people are entering plaese remember to switch to single shot or your pistol!

Anyone found to be breaking this rule will be sin binned or expelled from the game accordingly. This rule is in effect THROUGHT the WHOLE weekend. Day & Night.

    The Bullshit Rule

Bullshit will not be tolerated on any stirling event.

This event is a role playing airsoft experience game. We are trying to maintain a high level of game play to create a realistic enviroment. If you want to shoot Mags upon mags of BB's let me know and I'll return your deposit. If however you want to play the game as its intended then see you very soon and keep upto date with all the info in our game and news threads on the forums.

If your called as hit in a 50/50 situation take the hit & go to regen, a good sportsmanship approach is always the best & favoured way & you will quickly return back to the game,

Any players arguing with ANYONE will be told to leave site immediately.
We have all played this sport before & know what is expected of each of us!

Timings for Info and game briefs.

Please dont be late for any of the briefs as they will continue without you. Game info is important for your safety & enjoyment of the weekend

Aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated of any kind.

Cheat calling /Hit calling what ever you wish to call it will not be tolerated. Tell a marshal immediately and they will deal with it. NOT three hours later, as the issue has passed as this makes any resolve hard for our marshalls & staff to deal with.

Cheating will not be tolerated and you will leave site and be banned from all future events ran by Stirling Airsoft. Your name will also be passed on to other sites for their reference.

Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. You will Leave site.

The BANG rule is not enforced at Stirling games so expect to be hit at close range within buildings (see firing in buildings rule). However at close range we do expect common sense from players.

Random Cronoing will be in operation at each regen area. Any weapons found to be over the limit will be ticketed and held in the site office until end of play sunday. All players are asked to ensure that your weapons are under the MAX FPS limits for our games. Crono will be available on Friday night for players to check. See a Marshall at the safezone. which will be marked on your map.

To all players that never need to be told any of the above during a game. Thanks for booking up and we hope you have a great airsofting experience with stirling Airsoft.

Thanks to everyon who attended for a great weekend, some great firefights & action, thanks to kelli for her cooking & refreshments all weekend to all the stirling staff that helped put this event together (you know who you are)
to all marshalls for your efforts this weekend, to all Commanders & I.C's for your efforts from all factions.

here is an overview of the outcome (as i see it) from the weekend (if its slightly biased towards us Shia i dont appologise LOL)

    Op Kratos Game Overview- debrief

The Streets of SHAIBAH were as usual filled with Sunni Rebels & the SMIP (sunni Muslim Iraqi Party) were having their constant armwrestle with the Britsh forces that are everpresent since the demise of Saddam.

Having been exlied for years into neighbouring Iran the Shai Mulims Headed by Abraheem AL Slabbah and his Supreme Council of Revolutions Made a plan to retake what was once their home soil.

With the streets filled with resistance from Jamail Malik's Sunni Warriors & the Peace keeping british, the Shia had their hands full as soon as they entered the city of Shaibah, a Fight for some form of control and the need to secure their safe house that had been occupied by Sunni fighters, was proving difficult.

the british had an oppertunity to allow the shia's distraction of the sunni's take the pressure of the british & to allow then to take up some ground control on the streets of SHIABAH.

The Sunni were aware of the Shia presence & they stepped up their control of the city and it seemed at times they were aided by the british, it later transgressed that the british were working to their own agenda.

So the fight between the Shia & the Sunni picked up ferocious pace and slowly but surely the Shia started to gain a little ground, as shia were struggling for ground & property Jamail Malik & Abraheem AL Slabbah struck a deal to orchastrate a ceasefire & to combine their efforts to push the british out & to leave the two iraqi factions to fight it out.

the plan was set & the Shia Aided the Sunni to move into the British FOB (forward operations Base) as this objective was done some confusion occurred over the ceasefire agreement ended abruptly & all hell broke loose as the sunni & shia warriors turned on each other.

Trust was now broken & the tempo of the battle increased as the SCR & SMIP waged war on each other, the brits were happy to sit back & allow the Iraqi brothers kill each other off.

The cover of darkness saw the Shai take a decent foothold within Shaibah, their gold that had been stolen was in the most part retrieved, and as the sunlight rose on the dawn of the new day the fighting continued,
Abraheem AL Slabbah made a deal with the british, to try to stop the oil being controlled by the sunni, this would allow the Shai to move their aid Shipment to their aid station & to be distributed to their people,
the SCR held their end of the bargain & took the oil shipment from the Sunni's however when the SRC tried to move their aid to the Aid station they discovered not only was it occupied by british who were not willing to let the Shia in they also opened fire in an effort to Control the aid shipment.

the british were tasked with bringing order to the city & it seemed to do this they must control the key components that make the city tick. Power, Water, Aid, & an overall pressence & a Firm grip on this lawless state to gain command & contriol to protect those caught inthe middle.

Jamial Malik of the SMIP & Abraheem AL Slabbah of the Supreme council of revolutions Once again agreed a ceasefire between tier parties, Jamail Malik had lost his money & oil & an ammo shipment & he wanted those back, both factions agreed to concentrate their efforts on the british.

Abraheem AL Slabbah had the Oil Shipment, the Aid Shipment & most of his gold, he held the injured Iraqi Cheif of police and had established his safe house & some other key buildings within the city, Jamail Malik had a strong foothold around the city & had the west of it as a soild fortress, holding the Madrassa and several other buildings of high importance & control over the city. Both men now had something to bargain with & were happy to aid ech other in ridding Shaibah of the unwelcomed british presence.

the British had some gold, a munitions Cache & Jamail Maliks money they controlled the Aid Station & the Power Plant, key to the operational control of the city.

Abraheem AL Slabbah now has some bargaining tools to strike a trustworthy deal with Jamail Malik & his Sunni Muslim Iraqi Party, he has the ability to also deal with the british should that need arise but trust is now an issue & it seems that the brits are about to feel the wrath of a combined United Iraqi Peoples delegate (UIPD).

Thanks to all who played in the true spirit this weekend, the sunni's were a pain in the arse and the shi'ite were...............unpredictable, but hats off to guys on the UK Task Group, they did everything i asked of them.

Really good weekend i thought and great to see some old and new faces. Thanks to the Irish who came over and also to all the other teams who held our thin red line while the Iraqi's ganged up on us.

The rules of engagement meant alot of time watching the SMIP and SCR jockey for position in the town but our tactic was to stay impartial and fight the fights we wanted to on our terms. This was working till about 1530 when all hell broke loose on FOB Camelot. After that we took a few hours to dust ourselves down and get a foothold back in the city.

On many occasions we had to resort to denying the other teams ground and their objectives rather than getting ours completed but that was the next best thing available to us.

What the UIPD brings to the region is still uncertain, but all i am can say is that the brave, happy few will still be at the front next time in Shaibah.
