A long struggle ahead

Coalition commanders today warned they face a long hard struggle in the CHAD.

Major simmons of the Royal fusiliers stated his men and those  of his American counterparts from 1st Battalion 15th infantry regiment  were
"more than ready for  what we know will be a long struggle ahead but were better trained and better equipped than ever before".
The major went on to explain that all unit commanders had spoken to their counterparts in the Rifles and the US Black Scarves who have recently rotated out of Chad after the previous tour ended. "The men coming into this theatre now are infinitly better prepared to face the enemy and are all eager to get started with the initial stages of Op Alexander".

The battlegroup is thought to be heading to  Nema Nemasso, Northern Chad a known stronghold of the DBR  since the  withdrawl in 2008 of the UN peace keeping force stationed in the area.

ISAT forces in 24 hour battle for Nema Nemasso

Op Alexander Began at the weekend with some of the fiercest fighting British forces have seen since world war 2.

The battle for Nema Nemasso began shortly after 11AM saturday morning when ISAT forces from UK 2nd battalion Royal Fusiliers and US 1st Battalion 15th Infantry Regiment  moved into the town and reestablished FOB NOX in the northern sector and immediatly deployed troops to capture areas of key importance.
Fighting died down in the late afternoon and coalituion forces attempted to regroup and take stock after 6 hours of continous fighting. But as the sun fell on the spiritual home of the DBR  the followers of AZEAR began a counter attack and at one point UK troops were fighting enemy inside the FOB itself.
Sources claim that at some point in the early evening it was confirmed that combatents were using the mosque as a firing position against ISAT forces so several sections were deployed to capture the mosque which they did leading to a long sustained battle for control.

Fighting died down during the night as both sides took stock but as the sun came up on sunday morning the DBR launched another counter attack trying to retake the mosque and capturing the ISAT held KGB regional HQ from here they were able to launch wave after wave of attack onto FOB NOX and once again UK troops found themselves fighting for their lives  as the enemy managed to use several points of attack to cover a small infiltration groups entry to the command building. eventually ISAT forces retook the posistion and they now have firmly reestablished themselves within the town and will continue to carry out operations against rebel DBR factions.

Rumours that the assault force was under the command of special forces has been denied by whitehall and washington.

Sources claim the battlegroups next target will be Moussoro another known DBR stronghold. But ISAT commanders are refusing to confirm or deny these rumours.

We will bring you more news as it happens.

News 30th March 2011

Moussoro tension increases

Op Alexander continues as ISAT forces have established FOB Herakles in the western sector of Moussoro in preperation for Op Kingsman due to begin any day now according to military sources.

It seems the town has become something of a transport hub for DBR fighters moving across CHAD. Moussoro in Kanem CHAD is held by many as the home of the Kanem Guera Brotherhood  led by interim president Victor Alluma.
Alluma hopes for permenent election in the summer and will wish any DBR activity in his birthplace will be short lived and some claim he has even offered assitance to what he  has in the past called the invading west. Those close to the KGB leader deny he has reached out to ISAT for help to clear Moussoro stating as Alluma has that a free Africa must be earned by Africans and not the west.

Heavy Losses for ISAT in Moussoro

ISAT  forces in Moussoro CHAD  launched operation Kingsman at the weekend designed to remove DBR fighters from the home of the Kanem Guera Brotherhood. What they actually found was a city teeming with devoted fighters and follwers of AZAEAR. from the outset ISAT faced an uphill struggle as the DBR occupied the entire city and coalition forces came under heavy fire as soon as they entered the  city and tried to establish there forward operating base in the western sector. Suffering heavy losses for the first 4 hours left the ISAT command with little choice but to change the desired plan of pushing east into the heart of the city and so following a series of precision airstrikes on specific buildings UK and US troops pushed south east and managed to gain a foothold on the southern edge of the city. from here they slowly began to gain some precious ground but still taking heavy losses left them thin on the ground and unable to push on any further without losing the resupply routes back to the now firmly established FOB Herakles.

Fighting continued into the night and what sources claim was essentially a skeleton crew of ISAT troops defended there posistions against continious attack from a never ending supply of enemy fighters. As the sun rose on sunday DBR fighters began with renewed fury the attacks to force ISAT out of Moussoro. And by 11 am the DBR had managed to push far enough west that they actually  surrounded the area of FOB Herakles. Fighting here continued with major  losses on both sides for many hours until Brigade HQ ordered the battlegroup to extract all troops from the city.

ISAT commanders have stated that although Kingsman failed to acheive its objectives at the weekend Britain and America remain positive that the Alexander battlegroup can still help to make a more secure CHAD in time for the summe elections.

Sources close to Victor Alluma claim he was outraged by the wanten destruction of his birthplace by ISAT airstrikes and those close to the interim president believe it could of been the nail in the coffin of the uneasy alliance between KGB and ISAT.

SNN News Headlines 20th May 2011

Chadian Minister Claude Utaka Killed

CHADS interim president Victor Alluma and his government have suffered a great loss it has been revealed that the KGB minister for internal security has been killed by dissident fighters in Cameroon after his convoy got ambushed in a remote area of Cameroon near the Chadian border.
It is thought that Utaka was on his way to a meeting with leaders of the local Henchi tribe who live in the rolling hills and rice fields of the border country. Full details are not known as yet but sources in CHAD are claiming that Utaka was there at the behest of Alluma himself who is said to have grown very concerned with DBR influence over Henchi tribesmen.
The killing seems to have re-ignited some long running feuds with neighbouring tribes and dozens of people have already died as civil unrest turned into violence that only seems possible in Africa. The Cameroon government has issued statements declaring the situation under control and several news groups have footage of military and police using tear gas and water cannons on crowds across a large portion of eastern Cameroon.

Election Fever

Election fever has hit CHAD as the main parties have announced the runners for August’s elections.
SNN will be bringing you all the news as it happens in N’Djamena in the build up to Election Day.
ISAT forces have been placed in control of security for the city as hundreds of thousands of people begin to descend upon the capital to hear the runners in their campaign speeches.

The three main runners at this time are
•   Viktor Alluma,  Khanem  Ghuerra  Brotherhood (Currently serving as interim president )
•   Otto Jober  Devine Brotherhood of ROY
•   Oswald Botangi  Current chief of Police
We will be bringing you a detailed profile of each candidate as the campaign continues.

Security fears have increased greatly since the DBR/KGB split at Massakori in June but the capital has yet to see any of the violence that has accompanied the election trail so far across Africa.
An ISAT spokesperson said this week that there would be a heavy presence on the streets of N’Djamena until after the elections had been completed and any threat to disrupt or attack the proceedings would be dealt with immediately. ISAT forces currently deployed in CHAD for Op Alexander 1 are British 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers and American 1st Battalion 15th Infantry regiment who will see the end of their tour shortly after the Elections.
