You guys were amazing as ever.

I have done a few combat msisions now and since you lot started coming it has really enhanched the experience.

I am slowing getting to know names and faces now. Your ethos, your play, your look is perfect for the stuff we all do.

Thanks once more and I really look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Syd .... I owe you one now mate. That was so cool. I jumped up like a jack in the box, screamed 'STAND TOO, STAND TOO' spun around to grab my weapon and you had a pistol right in my chest. - NUTS!

Thanks for the feedback. I told Keith before the event that this one would be the best so far, and I am glad to see I wasn't wrong!

Although we were a bit down on the numbers we were expecting, we changed the way approached the event this time: we split the command in 2 (Steve on role play, Phil C on combat) as well as doing a lot more preparation in advance, and it all worked. Additionally, you guys were great in the ways that you approached us.

There were some items that we just did not have time to do, but they will keep for next time!

Ben.

Team ETS, what can i say that has not already been said!
the all round dynamic of your lot this weekend was brill, our F.O.B. Became the Alamo as roadside bombs, suicide bombs, mortar attacks  and all out assaults on our F.O.B. were relentless.
on saturday night i set up a stag rota for my boys to be put in force from 21.00hrs & by 21:25 we had to ditch it as every 20-40 mins we  seemed to encounter an attack of some sort and any bodies we had were needed.
well done you guys, you fazed a few of our lads out when we caught you and they had to search your lads and they were in character, muttering in afghan & trying things on..

It was good to finally meet you guys.

Damn shame you did not accept my offer service, I could have really done with the money, and I think the Taliban could of done with some additional firepower in that last firefight.  But you were probably right not to trust.

But hopefully it caught you unawares and presented an interesting and unplanned situation for you to think about and react to.   Smiley

Right on Lads.  Your tactics are always improving and so you are now a truly potent adversary!  I've always appreciated the details that you guys take care not to miss out, and I loved Phil and the Cleric/Holy Man's tent; I was half temted to go in an ask for "enlightenment".  The UN outfits looked cool too (even if you did think the helmets were gay)...  I've always liked the idea of having peace-keepers in the area as well as military forces, to add a new dynamic to the mission, and it worked really well.

Well done to all.

Yeah sorry, was really picking up a pace there and we were against the clock. If We'd known that you'd missed out on firefights throughout the weekend due to sneaky beaky and patrolling we probably would have let ya join on (if not exactly for good in-game reasons!)

We honestly thought there was no way it was serious, trustable offer from a reality point of view - for future use, a quick "out of game" reference to how you were actually itching for a gunfight etc... ie actually say "Out of character" or "out of game guys.."  and we snap out of character for a few secs to discuss what's good for people rather than characters - if ya see what I mean.

Was a great situation anyway... panned out pretty much as expected, although I thought at one point that 2Para were actually close to going guns down!

Thanks again for the OG kit, the chest rig was very useful in the end.

Thanks Matt! You made me pay though, that level of interrogation was a shock, it was fairly amiable up until then... Next time I'll keep running Smiley

Yeah I thought about that afterwards, in that I should have said something along of the lines of "out of game" etc.  First time I had been involved in roleplaying.  I should have given the whole thing a lot more thought but we were somewhat rushed because we knew a large attack was only 15 minutes away and we were rushing to get to you guys to use that intel as a bargaining tool to gain your trust.  Unfortunately it all kicked off 10 minutes earlier than due.

The reasoning behind the offer was primarily to spend the last hour seeing how you guys work.  Being so distant from the game was never an issue for our team because we get a kicking out of doing long range recce's and op work.  As said in a previous post, I did not fire a single round during the whole weekend, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest, because I had a good time.  Smiley  No the main reason was after hearing about the stories of things that had happened over the weekend I thought to come up with the offer of a mercenary service would be something no one would of expected and was my way of contributing that additional bit of flavouring to an already flavoured dish.

At the end of the day, the brief 20 minutes I had with you guys gave me what I was looking for.  I was right in the middle of an on the cuff improvised action and watched you guys doing your stuff.

Although it was a strange feeling when you had us on our knees ordering the para's in the FOB to lay down there arms.  I knew you guys would never compromise, I knew the para's would never compromise, I knew I was caught in the middle and totally screwed..... Cheesy

Nice work lads.  Smiley

And for this season the UN will be wearing the blue body armour and beret, as modelled by Liam and Adam. Don't we just look wondeful!
