Op: Tempest - Copehill Down Airsoft Event August 2010 (Themed Game)
14 August, 2010 to 15 August, 2010

Location:N’Djamena, Chad.

Situation:

The latest attempt at democratising Central Africa has reached its pivotal moment- Chad’s elections will either unite a battle scarred nation or send it, and potentially the Region, deeper into chaos.

Victor Aluma, and his Kanem Guera Brotherhood party, has been holding a firm grip upon the nation since Tuwkani’s assassination last August.  His assumption of power was not met with widespread approval and as such has suffered many attempts on his life.  The protagonist’s identities behind these attempts are all but whispers but many have their own theories, and a recurring one is that the origins have not all been from domestic organisers.

Both the Divine Brotherhood of Roy and the KGB both strive for independent control of the country to ensure flow of natural resources and also the trade and narcotics routes that go across the continent.  The new leading party of Chad would also oversee the withdrawal of ISAT Forces as agreed by UN Mandate allowing a gradual return to the unobserved activities which have made many a Chadian rich.

Standing in the shadows of Tuwkani is the Democratic Party of Chad’s leader, Christopher Umbani.  Many do not predict a good result in the elections for himself or the DPC but with the hope that ISAT troops will be able to remove most intimidation at the polling stations there is still a chance they could gain votes.

ISAT forces have committed extra numbers to patrol the streets of N’Djamena in the immediate build up to the elections and combined with the efforts of Operation Kingsman demonstrate their desire to ensure a safe passing of this event.  The members of this Battle Group are eager to see their mission through after many took part in the Kingsman offensive and are due to rotate out of theatre shortly.

Captain Simon Ward, spokesperson for the ISAT Forces in Chad, read the following statement to the global media on the ing elections, ‘ISAT are committed to providing an environment to the people of Chad that allow them to feel safe from threats of intimidation and violence and to allow them to exercise their democratic rights. Seen from a security point of view, the elections will only be a success if we can make the process as secure and inclusive as possible to allow this fair and democratic event to pass effectively.’

Teams:

Kanem Guera Brotherhood - Flectarn - DPM - Woodland

DBR -Civilian or traditional dress. red white shemagh. No Desert gear or DPM

ISAT (2nd Batt Fusiliers, British Army) -British Desert/ multicam

ISAT (1st Batt 15th Infantry Reg, 3rd Infantry Div. US Army) -ACU/Tricolour

Mission:

Sneaky

Your post says you carnt use hi caps, but there is no ammo limit, so why restrict the use. The event was never advertised as low or mid cap only event. I understand the method behind stopping players with huge box mags on m4s etc but the rest i dont.

Could you please advise as my team of 8 have no low or mid cap mags.

All the best

Hi Guys,

we are really looking forward to this, and can i say how pleased we as a team are that you are having the no high caps for this event.

For us as a team and a site we have made the choice to move away from high caps for about 90% of the games/events that we do.  The use of real/mid cap mags really does improve the gameplay, it has so many advantages to the way you have to play- the use of your support weapons, the way you try and operate as a group.

Airsoft & even more mil-sim seem to have taken on more of a paintball mentality of late.  Its so hard trying to either win ground or take positions when the guys at the other end all have either high cap 300/400 rds mags or worse box mags raining down on you...its like taking on a small section of support gunners!

But when you have to change mag and even reload under fire that really does get the blood pumping and makes it more of a achievement to win that certain battle.

I really do think it is the best thing for airsoft  as it will get people playing...and not spraying

Thanks,

Andy

All sides are now closed for bookings.

Please ensure the correct uniform is worn and no clashes with other team uniform. It is made very clear and you will be pulled out the game.

Remember this is a role play event and Not a shoot em up skermish........................if you think it is your waisting your money.  If you want to get into the spirit then you can make banners supporting your choice for the new president of CHAD.

There will be 3 candidates to choose and you will vote at the poling station. Info to foolow on the game info thread.

More info will be up in the coming weeks and house allocation will be up this weekend or early next week.

Thanks
Matt

ALL DBR & KGB Families are required to bring Boxes of money< the box must have your family name on it>

DBR boxes will be kept in the Hawalla Vault
KGB Monies will be kept in the Imperial bank of CHAD.

there is a template attached for the money

for those who have not made money before, it is usuall in wads of about an inch deep (think of a wad of money & you got the idea) the top & bottom must be the CHAD Stirling dollars but the middle can be blank paper. (saves on ink)

each family will need money for fines & bribes etc & for the role play element of the game.

all monies must be logged & stored in your respective banks

regards

Keith.

Keith & Co

Just a few lines to thank you and your team for an excellent run event. My first Sterling Airsoft event and will be something you will find me returning to as soon as I can. Both me and my team members (Armadillos) had a great time.

I do know how much time and effort it takes to build such a multi layered event and credit where credit is due - you and your team guys did an excellent job.

many thanks

ON Behalf of STIRLING AIRSOFT,i would like to thank all those who turned up & took part in what was a great weekend.

the Role playing depth to this weekend was played out well by all, there were dimensions & consequences to everything that played out.

All teams played in a great spirit & the weekend culminated in a massive push for the city.

An event like this takes alot of plaaning prep & timing & organisation and there are many who contributed & to thank everyone individually  but a big shout to all.

A Massive thanks to everyone who turned out & made the weekend what it was.

To all Marshalls for your hard work it is always recognised & appreciated, especially WILL big thanks.
to Matty K  for everything you did and all those who offerred their help & services to us you all know who you are & we appreciate it.

To  the ETS Guys for your role as police & as Otto Jobre, you always add depth & a great dimension to the games.
Recon 6 & the boys Brilliant all weekend guys.

To all Commanders & IC'S Heads of Families for all your efforts & assistance. Command can be a thankless job
if i miss anyone i apologise but  big thanks to Freddy, Stu & Ed, Viktor & Felix,  from me a massive thanks to Alex  for your role as my right hand man, couldnt of done it without you pal and flipp & lou who aided in our ops room.

Dave & airsoft Skirmish for the shop & all your help towards the weekend.

To all those who aided in the big clean up.

If i missed anyone its not intentional.

The out come is that Viktor Aluma Has regained control (for now) he has empowered the corrupt chief of police to prime minister, so job applications & vacancies in the police may be available.

The DBR leader Otto Jobre was assasinated once the election results were announced, but he was a mere figure head for the DBR who are strong in numbers & have great depth and they will not go away lightly, and released doses of the Pathogen LZRD 147 into the City from a lower ground level instead of the intended Airborne Access from the top of the tower.

The Battle continues, a rotation of the tour is now due, the KGB need to address their current cabinet and settle in their newly appointed PM, the police need to recruit. & the DBR are still fighting for N'Djamena.

This chapter is far from over.

Once Again thanks to all those who made the journey & we hope you all arrived home safely & Look forward to seeing you all again.

keep your eyes out on the forums for  our calendar which has dates of all our upcoming Games, Combat Missions, Training Days, and big events.
