Elections
According to sources in N'Djamena Chad all the votes from this weeks elections are in and counted. After several delays and it would seem that the official announcement will be made tomorrow morning at a press conference in the Grand Plaza Hotel in the city.

Private Military Companies in Africa
U.S PMC Defence Corps has controversally been awarded the contracts for protecting civilian engineers and high ranking officials along with any members of the press in or around N'Djamena. This decision does not sit well with British firms like Strategic Solutions who were forced to withdraw all employees from Africa last year during the fighting in N'Djamena due to government policy concerning british contractors potentially engaging British troops in theatre. Strategic Solutions are currently involved in pipeline protection contracts in Russia but remain determined to get back into the African market so much so they have demanded an inquiry as to why U.S companies like D.C can operate but no one else.

Militia Violence increase
N'Djamena has seen an increase in Militia violence this week in the wait for election results. One U.S Soldier was badly wounded during a mob riot within the city yesterday. and there has been six car bombings in three days two of which occurred within the green zone supposedly a safe area controlled by Coalition.
Security has been stepped up all over with tomorrows election results due in the morning.

Tuwkani Wins Elections

African National Party leader Henry George Tuwkani has today been sworn in as the new head of government in troubled Chad.

Tuwkani 52 was announced the as the new president at 10 AM this morning at a press conference at the Grand Plaza Hotel in N'Djamena. The triumphant new president greeted the crowds at the press conference and promised to begin immediately working on a resolutuon to the troubles in the area. It was thought at one point that Ahmed Fazurk leader of the Azar party looked likely to retain his position as head of state but when the polls were counted Tuwkani was 6 points ahead making this the closest African election in history.

Third in the polls was Saieef Al Ussan the hard line Cleric was not present at the ceremony this morning and has been unavailable for comment.

Tuwkani has said he will take office on Monday next week and first order of the day will be a meeting with Coalition military leaders to begin dealing with the Militia problems there. It is feared that with Tuwkani now in charge the Militias will increase their acts of violence.

Boiling Point

Last night saw more violence on the streets of N'Djamena with clashes between those hardliners loyal to the Azear government and supporters of Henry Tuwkani the new president.

The trouble spilled over into the green zone where rioters were met and forced back by U.S troops.

World News - August 22 2007. Breaking News

Tuwkani Kidnap Forces N'Djamena Crisis

The violence in N'Djamena this weekend has led to a state of emergency being declared in the entire region.
Trouble started during what was meant to be a peacefull protest march demonstrating against the newly elected Henry George Tuwkani. This protest was in fact a cover for armed Militia groups to enter the Green Zone and kidnap the President from Government buildings. It is believed the Coalition forces had prior Knowledge of this attempt and had managed to get undercover agents in the protest march, one of our correspondents was near to the government building that Tuwkani was visiting when he was snatched and he saw what he thinks were SF agents engage the kidnappers to try and save the president but one was shot and another was dragged off by the Mob Tuwkani was then loaded into a van and taken away into Militia held parts of the city.

The violence then esculated with Militia Cells trying to move weapons through into the supposedly safe Green Zone. After 24 Hours of fierce fighting in terrible weather conditions the Coalition were forced into pulling U.S Troops out of their area in the centre of the city and folding back to where the British had managed to turn the East Red Zone into a Green Zone. With Coalition Forces seemingly on the run Militia Forces gave one final push before dropping back to secure their new ground.

Militia Sources are claiming an outright success in keeping the west out of their city and the man beleived to be orchestrating the whole uprising Kish Pankhania is being hailed a Hero who remains free to continue his quest to rid the Chad of the "Infidel troops" although Coalition sources are also claiming that Pankhania has been captured and is being held them.

Whatever the outcome of the weekends fighting it would definatly seem that we can expect more trouble and violence from this Divine Brotherhood Of Roy the group responsible for the armed actions.
It has also been announced today that at least 500 more Men from British and American Forces are to be sent out to Chad on peace keeping duties

President in Exile

Rumours today have been confirmed that after the violence in N'Djamena at the weekend, the newly elected President Henry George Tuwkani has indeed been Exiled and has claimed temporary sanctuary in South Africa while he recovers from the beatings he received during his capture.

Coalition Forces in Chad are still holding the new reduced Green Zone but it would seem the attacks are far from over as Groups claiming to be part of the Divine Brotherhood of Roy have been responsible for several car bombs and other explosions in that area of the city.

News Report - August 24th 2007

Court Martial

The Following is part of a debrief obtained by SNN This Evening

Lt. Phillips was relieved of his command of 3 platoon shortly after the battle for N’djamena, he is on a RAF Tri-Star heading for Germany to face allegations of breaking rules of engagement during the battle.

This is transcript of an interview / de-brief taken after Lt. Phillips boarded the flight for Germany.

Interviewer: Col. Fraser Wainwright, Royal Military Police, Special investigations branch.

Interviewee: Lt Shaun Phillips, 3 Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion Princess of Wales Royal Regiment.

Col. Identify yourself please

Lt. Lt Shaun Phillips, Officer in command, 3 Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion Princess of Wales Royal Regiment.

Col. Clarify your role.

Lt. My role or my Platoons role?

Col. 3 Platoons role

Lt. Our primary role was a peacekeeping / security role in the NE, E & SE sectors of N’djamena and to provide support to 3 Brigade, 10th Mountain Division if needed.

Col. In your own words tell me about the demonstration march.

Lt. At approx 11:00hrs local the demonstrators reached the British sector, 2 section were policing the SE while 3 section were in the E & NE.
4 section were QRF {quick reaction force} and stood by in our command post ready to react if our cordon was breached.

Col. Was your cordon breached?

Lt. No, the demonstration passed us by with only minor scuffles.

Col. I have reports that a SF Land Rover following the demonstration was attacked, what do you know about this?

Lt. Like I said we had a few minor scuffles; one of the demonstrators got a little over excited and jumped onto the bonnet of a Land Rover.
Luckily it happened in the British controlled sector and not the American sector; we all know what the Yanks are like for over reacting in those situations.

Col. So other than a few minor scuffles the demonstration passed without incident?

Lt. That’s correct.

Col. Tell me about the blue on blue incident?

Lt. At approx 11:35hrs local I received reports that 3 section had come under fire form building 42 and were wanting permission to return fire and enter the building.
I gave them permission to suppress the building and wait for a warrant to be issued before they entered the building.
A runner was sent to 10th Mountain command to request a warrant to enter the building at 11:40hrs.
At 11:45hrs an American patrol approached and engaged 3 section from the W killing 5 out of the 8 man patrol who were waiting to breach building 42.

Col. Did 3 section return fire on the American patrol?

Lt. No

Col. What action did you take?

Lt. I immediately sent a message to 10th Mountain command telling them to watch their fire; I then sent fire team Charlie, 4 section, QRF to escort the remainder of 3 section back to base.

Col. Tell me about the weapons cache found in building 78?

Lt. 2 section were tasked with an house to house search in Red Zone {Romeo 2-0} and a weapons cache was found in building 78.

Col. Its it true that you ordered the weapons cache to be booby trapped?

Lt. Yes

Col. You ordered men under your command to plant explosives in a civilian house?

Lt. Yes.

Col. Would you like to elaborate on that?

Lt. We were working under SOP`s set out by the Americans and could not remove weapons that were found in building outside the green zone.
This weapons cache gave me a great deal of concern, so in order to protect my men I gave the order to booby trap the cache.

Col. I have a report stating that 4 unarmed civilians were shot and killed at a British controlled check point in Green Zone {Golf 1-0}, the report says that you gave the order to fire on these civilians, is this correct?

Lt. Yes I gave the to order to fire

Col. So you blatantly broke your rules of engagement?

Lt. Yes, the ROE`s were set out by the Americans and they put the life of my men in danger, my job is to keep the men under my command safe and if that means breaking a few rules then so be it.

Col. Right, I also have numerous reports of British soldiers entering civilian properties in Green Zone{ Golf 1-0} without the required paper work, can you shed any light on this?

Lt. Yes my men may have entered the odd house without the relevant paper work.

Col. On who’s authorisation?

Lt. Like I have already said, I am responsible for the men under my command.
When you are in a life threatening situation you don’t have time to wait for bits of paper to enter a building, I have to make a decision in a split second that could either get my men killed or save their lives, if sending them into a building without a warrant means they stay alive then that is the decision I will make.

Col. I’ll repeat my question; on whose authorisation did British soldiers enter civilian properties in Green Zone {Golf 1-0}?

Lt. I would like to see a solicitor before I answer anymore questions

Col. You can speak to a solicitor soon; we’ll take a break and continue this interview when we land in Germany

Interview End.

Fellow Soldiers have rallied round Lt Phillips defending his actions as those of a Commander protecting his men in a Hostile enviroment and each has said they would do the same in that situation. Campaign groups are appealing for Phillips to face a public trial. But it is thought that any trial will be dealt with internally.
SNN will Keep you informed with details as they develop.

Russian Fuel Protests

The growing Fuel crisis across the Russian continent has seen protest marches and angry demonstrations in many affected areas. Over the past few weeks Russian Police and Military have been despatched to at least 30 Marches in different areas. Mostly in poor communities that will be greatly affected by shortages of a Reliable power source during the long cold Siberian winter.
Russian Government sources say the "Crisis" is being blown out of proportion by the media and by dissident groups intent on stirring trouble in the remote regions of the Federation, Explaining that these Dissident Groups are the reason for the Military's Zero Tolerance approach to the Marches.

SNN will be reporting in more detail on the problems in Russia as and when developments happen.

Headlines

Africa

Coalition Troops again under attack from Militia forces in N'Djamena Chad as fighting worsens in the Eastern sector of the city.

Exiled President Henry George Tuwkani has today been released from hospital in South Africa where he was recovering from the injuries sustained during his Brutal kidnapping two weeks ago.
Tuwkani said at a press conference this morning in Johannesburg that he was feeling much better and said he intended to begin the fight to reinstate his Government immediatly.

Russia

More violence as protests hit Moscow bringing the city to a standstill yesterday with over fifteen thousand people apparantly attempting to march on the Kremlin to voice their argument. Russian Government officials have stated again that no such Fuel crisis is happening or impending and these marches are being organised by Dissident groups. Police in Riot Gear used Water jets to control the crowd in one location and there are rumours that Gas and Rubber Bullets were used in others.

South America

The U.S Drug Enforcment Agency has today announced a massive increase in the attempts of shipment and supply of Narcotics from South America. DEA officials said at a Washington Drugs conference that although the arrest rate is high there remains a massive amount of shipments escaping unnoticed. These comments were made just before the announcment of the creation of a new multi agency task force set up to combat drugs trafficking.

Europe

Police and Interpol have made a series of swooping arrests across mainland Europe over the past two days in an Anti Terror Operation. Arrests were made in Holland, France, Germany and Spain. Sources say suspects were questioned regarding numerous terror threats and alleged plans to begin a campaign of Bombings on Cross channel ferries in the build up to Christmas.

More men needed to deal with uprising

Coalition commanders have today admitted they will need many more men to deal with the recent esculation in troubles in the Chad. With no definitive enemy area now Commanders say they are unable to utilise the Air support they have for fear of civilian casualties. attacks on troops have increased in particular attacks on U.S soldiers, Sources say this is purely down to a differnce in patrolling techniques as British forces tend to move around constantly on foot making themselves harder targets for the Snipers who seem to have free run of the city whilst the Americans tend to remain stationary on their vehicles.

President Tuwkani has been locked in summit talks with the U.N this week pleading for them to send troops in Now to help the struggling Coalition forces.

World News - September 30th 2007. Breaking News

Terror Attack in Russia

SNN has just recieved confirmed reports of a terror attack in Tockcheva a small town in middle Russia.

It seems that an as yet unnamed group entered into the Government records facility in Tockcheva on Thursday 28th September just before closing time at 6PM. after a firefight with security guards inside, The armed group then set fire to the building before releasing all the hostages and escaping in the confusion. It is thought that explosive charges had also been placed in the building as several explosions were heard by witnesses. At present few details are known of how or why this attack took place but it is known Russian authorities attempted to cover the incident up and stop it being reported in the world media.

SNN Sources in Russia claim that this attack is linked to the ever growing rumours of the impending Russian fuel crisis which is strongly denied by Russian Government officials who have today released a statement claiming the fire was a result of a land dispute with local farmers which got out of hand as the fire started by accident. All records contained within the Facility were destoryed in the fire which will cause massive problems for the authorities in dealing with land rights and tax payments.

More Violence across Russia

SNN has recieved unconfirmed reports of more violent scuffles between Russian Security Forces and unhappy protest groups across the whole of Russia. It seems the governments claims that this so called fuel crisis is exaggerated has not appeased the general population. The trouble thats been stirring for the past two months in poorer areas now seems to be spreading to other more financally stable areas.
And this alone is major cause for concern within the Russian administration.

Earlier today Alexander Vaskorov a member of the Siberian Liberation Party released a statement to the world press. His chilling statement should serve as a reminder to the Russian Government how close they are to civil unrest becoming Civil War.

"I call on you to rise up, to form the new Mongol Hordes and I proclaim myself as your leader.

In the memory of our great forebear Ghengis Khan I proclaim myself the new Khan!

The gangsters of Moscow now steal our Motherlands bounty and rob our children of the future that is rightly theirs.
I pledge i will re-establish the Siberian Khanate of our forefathers. And I promise you a glowing future for all our children.

The Siberian Tiger will destroy the Russian bear once and for always."

A widows words

Today the widowed wife of Siberian Dissident Alexander Vaskorov verbally attacked the Russian state claiming Moscow had Vaskorov killed due to his threat to their "Comfortable Seats of Corruption and Power".

Ludmilla Vaskorov made the claims on Russsian national Radio this morning saying her husband was a good and moral man trying to acheive justice and independance for his fellow siberians.
Since his death a little over a month ago the situation is Siberia has calmed down on the surface of things. But many firmly believe that it is only a matter of time before a new Vaskorov steps forward, a subject Ludmilla Vaskorov felt very strongly about. Stating "Alexi will be sorely missed But he will be replaced, Not in my heart but he will be replaced A new Khan will rise and he will lead us into a glorious future. And Mark My Words It not be a very long wait.

A Year In War
The First Six Months

As we rapidly aproach the end of 2007 SNN take a look at what has been an truly historic year.

the year got off to a rocky start in January when Coalition Special Forces entered into the DMZ between North and South Korea engaging enemy forces and disrupting troop and logistics movements around the Olchon Valley MSR.

in February the conflict in Korea esculated when North Korean troops openly attacked the south with fierce attacks leaving many dead as the North moved South. considered by many to be the first actual main force contact of this new campaign.

in March SNN correspondent Nick Billany was killed whilst reporting on the war as it moved through the city of Ko-Hong.
By now battle fronts were appearing everywhere and all aid groups and international press were evacuated to safe areas in Su-won.

March 13 North Korean Naval forces attack south Korean coast at Inch'on taking out coastal air and artillery defences and pushing inland as attacks increas all over the country with North Korean forces surrounding Seoul.

Coalition and South Korean Forces in Su-won engage enemy in 24 hour battle for control of town
North Korean Forces victorious after coalition reinforcements were held outside the town.

In April With the announcement of the war crimes trail of African rebel General Azear. Trouble flared with groups loyal to the captured General in Africa.
various reports claimed the Chad and several other areas of Africa have descended into chaos with PMC's (Private Military Companies) pretty much running the show and turning the whole region into a modern Wild West.

During May and June Coalition Air force jets carried out strategic strikes across North Korea wiping out 99% of all the Norths air defence system after a special forces mission dubbed Dark Moon succeeded in destroying the Air defence control base and its radar tracking sytems.

July saw the largest Airborne assault since WW2 as Coalition forces took the fight North and attacked
Pyong Yang the North Korean Military headquarters.
With the military head cut off the North Korean snake its military forces have gone under ground in what many have said is in preparation for a guerilla campaign but since then the North Koreans have been very quiet apart from a few seemingly random attacks at remote outposts the War on the Korean Peninsula has drawn to a halt.
