06 December, 2008 to 07 December, 2008
TweetAs the sun sets on a snow covered Big Ben a war rages between the armed forces of England and Scotland. The day has seen a series of fierce battles erupt between the opposing forces of these neighbouring nations, battles that have been fought in and around some of these countries' most famous landmarks. Edinburgh Castle has fallen to the English. Scottish forces briefly seized control of King's Cross train station before it was retaken by the English. The Bank of England has been looted and there are Stinger Missile caches being transported covertly around the capital. Thousands of rounds of ammunition have been expended and casualties on both sides already number in the hundreds. Of course, none of this is real. Edinburgh Castle and King's Cross are not under attack. The Bank of England remains secure. England is not really at war with Scotland. The setting for this war is actually the British Army's FIBUA Training Village at Catterick in North Yorkshire. The heavily armed participants in this war between Old Enemies are actually Old Friends who have travelled from all corners of their respective nations to take part in this battle. This is Operation Silent Eye, a battle between England and Scotland for the Stirling Shield. This is not just an airsoft game. This is a Stirling Airsoft game.
December 6-7th 2008 will see the first Stirling Old Enemy game. The weekend will be run as any normal Stirling themed game with a points system to decide the winner. Multiple objectives running over the weekend.
The counrty that wins the Shield will take it home after having the Name and date engraved onto it. The Scotland team would have it on show at the Land Warrior Airsoft showroom . Airsoft Skirmish will hold onto the shield for the English.
