Location: IVO Kangari Hills, Southern Province, Sierra Leone
With the success of Operation Long Axe in November resulting in the deaths of Omar Okorie and Rasheed Sadeeki, high ranking members of both the Kangari Tigers and Azearian State respectively, the fighting in the area has intensified as the Tigers seek revenge.
Intel has confirmed that Okorie leaves behind at least one brother, who at this time remains unknown to the JPEL. It is assumed he now commands the militia and continues to push his men in their fight against the government of Sierra Leone.
The death of Rasheed Sadeeki has sparked a surge of fighting in all areas under conflict with AS or KOA and the Kangari Tigers now class themselves as a subdivision of these terrorist organisations.
HUMINT claims fighters are still pushing south towards the nation’s second city of Bo. But after an influx of new fighters, latest reports claim there is now fighting along the border of the southern and eastern provinces, as fighters flood out of the mountain camps to begin the spring offensive. Reports of fighting around Komandu and Boajibu confirm these rumours.
